The Y.A.R.D. Project

Y.A.R.D. stands for "Young Adults Reality Dreams"

and is a vision shared in by many gifted youth servants in Derry and Donegal.

The YARD project will be based at the newly renovated Columba House and aims to serve young people and their parents in the areas of:

Addiction to alcohol, drugs and other addictive behaviours

Literacy and Unemployment problems (providing essential skills and links)

Spiritual guidance and self worth programmes

Support for parents and families of young people at risk.

The Community will employ

An Addiction Counsellor to deal with education programmes and counselling for the young people and their parents

A Youth Advocate who will co-ordinate the educational programmes on offer and liaise with statutory  and voluntary agencies and local employers

An Administrator

The project will provide training in essential life skills and will use art, drama, music to help young people to achieve their true potential.
